Kepagian ke Kantor, Banyak Motor, Eh Malah Molor?
Telah tiga hari ini saya kepagian pergi ke kantor. Bayangkan saja, persis tiba di ruangan kerja tepat pukul 07.00 WIB. Tapi ternyata kedatangan saya lebih cepat itu terhalang banyak motor. Biasanya bisa tembus 20-25 menit dari rumah, kini lebih sedikit 30 menit. Jadinya, meskipun kepagian, tetap saja molor. Hi...hi...
Ternyata, tak seperti saya kira, justru keluar rumah lebih pagi, malah ditemui jalanan yang padat di Batam ini. Biasanya, saat saya pergi dari rumah sekitar jam 8 lewat dikit, jalanan terasa lengang. Dan bisa sampai ke kantor, sebelum jam 8.30. Apalagi kalau keluar dari rumah jam 9, wow sepi sekali.
Satu lagi, tipe saya dalam membawa mobil, kurang berani memotong pengendara motor. Jadi, bila seandainya di jalur kanan, dan di depan mobil saya, ada mobil yang pelan. Lalu saya lihat di kiri ada motor, maka saya tak berani memotong dari arah kiri. Apalagi, pengendara motor di Batam seperti sembarangan. Satu bodi badan motor mereka itu jadi sama persis dengan satu buah mobil. Hem...
Kini, juga harus super hati-hati saat berada di lampu merah. Biarkan saja pengendara motor berjalan duluan, saat lampu hijau menyala. Kalau tidak, mobil kita akan menabrak mereka.
He..he...., terkadang saya jengkel juga melihat ulah pengendara motor, saat saya berada di dalam mobil. Tapi ketika saya membawa motor -- utamanya malam hari, ketika dua gadis cilik saya minta jalan-jalan sekitar komplek-- perilaku saya pun, sama saja dengan pengendara motor lain. Jalan di tengah -- bodi motor udah sama dengan mobil --, atau terkadang berani-beraninya mendahului mobil. Ha..ha..
Lalu, mengapa harus lebih pagi ke kantor? Istri saya tahu jawabannya. Jadi, ketika ada tetangga bertanya, kok saya pergi ke kantor lebih pagi, dia pun menjawab dengan yang lain. Bukan jawaban yang ini, yang sebetulnya ini yang betul,''karena kuota speedy bulan November ini sudah habis, jadi harus cepat ngenet di kantor.''
Mengapa kuota speedy sudah habis? Wah, ini buka rahasia dapur. Tersebab, ada proyek dikerjakan yang memerlukan banyak browsing dan download. hi...hi...

Tergelitik Nak Nulis Sekolah Global yang Orang Tua Siswanya Takut Ujian Nasional Sehingga Mengadu ke Suami Mereka yang Jadi Anggota Dewan
Ada satu berita bagus di Batam Pos hari ini, selain soal Obama masih menanyakan nasi goreng dan bakso kepada Presiden SBY. Yakni, berita ketika orang tua siswa Sekolah Global Indo Asia (SGIA) hearing di DPRD Kota Batam. Yang ikut hearing, istri-istrinya pejabat dan anggota dewan sendiri. Yang mendengarkan keluhan, suami-suaminya juga.
Tapi sayang, Batam Pos seperti ''terlepas'' membiarkan moment berharga dari sisi jurnalistik ini ''terbuang'' percuma (klik ini untuk lihat beritanya). Padahal, inilah kesempatan warga Batam melihat, bagaimana sikap diri dari pemimpin mereka, ketika anak-anak mereka ketimpa masalah menghadapi Ujian Nasional (UN). Ternyata, ada ketakutan juga gagal, padahal Sekolah Global adalah sekolah berkurikulum internasional (pakai dua bahasa kabarnya). Coba kalau reporter yang menulis (berkode Med), lebih mendeskripsikan hearing itu, dan tanpa perlu beropini, maka akan terbawalah bagaimana sebenarnya pejabat, legislatif menanggapi isu yang berada pada diri mereka sendiri. Bayangkan saja, istri yang khawatir anaknya tak lulus UN itu, ada istri Asisten Walikota dan kepala dinas. Jangan-jangan malah bisa jadi ada istri Kepala Dinas Pendidikan sendiri. He..he...
Hm.hm..., jika ada yang bertanya, bukankah saya juga orang media, malah berita hearing itu tak ada juga di koran tempat saya bekerja, Posmetro Batam? Betul juga. Karena itu pulalah, sebelum postingan ini, kami berdiskusi mengenai berita Global itu. Selain kami mengakui, tak meliput khusus dan meletakkan reporter di sana (maklum, kami fokus ke berita kriminal), tapi berita Global itu, jadi pelajaran jika menemui kejadian yang nyaris serupa. Misalnya saja, ketika tiba-tiba ibu-ibu Bhayangkari protes ke polisi, siapa tahu kan?
Nah, kembali ke soal Global tadi. Ini bukan dari sisi jurnalistiknya. Pantaskah, para keluarga pejabat dan legislatif itu berkeluh kesah lagi ke gedung dewan, sedangkan hal itu sebenarnya bisa mereka bicarakan di rumah mereka masing-masing? Entah di meja makan saat makan malam bersama, atau malah ketika nonton tivi. Atau malah saat berada di tempat tidur?
Bukankah kita tahu, jika ada hearing begitu, pastilah ada biaya yang keluar? Biaya rapat itu (maaf, entah berapa nilainya saya tak tahu). Bukankah lebih baik, para suami-suami mereka membahas hearing yang lain?
